FAQ / Before we start
Good to know.
Quick answers about files, revisions, timing and how the work usually goes.
What should I send for mixing?
Export all tracks from the same starting point and give them names that make sense. WAV files at 24 bit and your project’s original sample rate are best. Please include your rough mix and a few references too.
What should I send for mastering?
Send your final mix as a WAV file at the project’s original sample rate. It should not clip or already be pushed to maximum loudness. If your mix-bus processing is part of the sound, leave it on.
How many revisions are included?
Mixing, mastering and mix + master include three revision rounds. For productions and podcasts, we agree on the right scope before the project starts. It helps if you collect your feedback in one message each time, so nothing gets lost.
How long does it take?
A master usually takes two to four working days. A mix usually takes around five to seven. We’ll agree on the exact timing before I start.
How does payment work?
After your inquiry, you will receive a confirmed quote before any work begins. Usually, 50% is due at the start and the remaining 50% after approval, before the final files are delivered. Larger productions can use agreed milestones. You can pay by bank transfer, PayPal or Wise. Invoices are issued in EUR without German VAT under the small-business rule in § 19 UStG.
Do you produce complete songs?
Yes. I can build a song from the first idea or demo through to the finished production, including arrangement, sounds and synths. Co-production or help with a track you have already started is possible too.
Do you also edit podcasts?
Yes. I edit conversations and interviews, reduce distracting noise and breaths, balance tone and level, and can add your intro and outro. Price and turnaround depend on the episode length, number of speakers and condition of the recordings.
Do you use generative AI such as Suno?
Not to replace your music. I work with your material and your ideas. AI can be interesting for experimenting, but it should not decide how your song sounds or what it has to say.
Why choose human mastering instead of AI?
An AI master is quick and can be enough for a demo. I can hear when the real problem is in the mix, respond to your references and talk through changes with you. It is more than running the song through an algorithm that makes it louder.
Do you offer bundle prices?
Yes. We can talk about a package price for EPs, albums or several projects together.
What will I receive?
Mixing, mastering and mix + master always include WAV and MP3 files. Podcast work includes WAV and MP3, plus the project file when it makes sense for the job. We agree on any additional versions beforehand.
